Contribution Guidelines

How you can help the community grow, whether by helping members or creating exclusive content.

Two Paths to Contribute

First of all: Thank you for your interest! Dark Stack is built by you.

There are two main ways to contribute to the community:

  • Community Participation (Free): Help other members, give feedback, report bugs, and be a positive presence.
  • Content Creation (Subscriber): Use the platform's tools to publish articles, create courses, submit challenges, and more.

Let's detail each one:

1. Community Participation (Free Plan)

This is the foundation of Dark Stack. All members, including those on the Free Plan, are essential to keeping the community alive and welcoming. You can:

  • Help in the Forums: Answer questions, react to posts, and share solutions.
  • Give Feedback: Saw a cool project or article? Leave a constructive comment.
  • Report Bugs: Found a problem on the platform? Let the moderation team know.
  • Browse and Learn: Consume available content, such as challenges and courses, for your own growth.

2. Content Creation (Subscriber Plan)

To keep the platform healthy, with unlimited resources and no ads, we centralize **creation** features as the main benefit of the Subscriber Plan.

As a Subscriber, you not only financially support the community, but also gain the tools to build your reputation and share your knowledge at scale.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Forum Creation: Start new discussions and topics.
  • Course and Article Publishing: Share your knowledge in unlimited long-form content.
  • Challenge Submission: Actively participate and submit your solutions for UI/UX and other challenges.
  • Unlimited Repositories: Create and host as many projects as you want, with no size limits.
  • Early Access: See and test our Roadmap features before everyone else.

To see the full list of benefits, see our plans page (coming soon).

3. Open-Source Contribution (GitHub)

Finally, if you're a dev and want to help build the platform itself (fix bugs in the source code, propose features), the process follows the standard open-source workflow:

  • Find our repositories on GitHub (link coming soon).
  • Open an "Issue" to discuss the bug or feature.
  • Follow the Fork, Branch, Commit, and Pull Request flow.
  • This type of contribution is voluntary and not directly tied to Subscription Plans.
